5 overeenkomsten tussen developers en atleten
5 reasons why developers are actually athletes
1. Hurdles and obstacles are conquered every day
Emergency jobs that need to be solved the same day, changes in the scope of a project, a user story that needs to be changed. A few of the things that a developer encounters in his or her daily work. Sometimes it takes some sweating, but with clever reasoning, planning and good communication he or she can meet these challenges every day.
2. Sprinting? Easy!
Sprinting is what developers do on a regular basis. With a computer. For various projects we work according to the Scrum framework, one of the agile frameworks to develop applications as effectively and flexibly as possible. In multidisciplinary teams, 'sprints' are used to work towards an end result within a few weeks. This is followed by a release or live event with evaluation, so that the next sprint can be started immediately. That's a good thing!
3. Developing requires a lot of discipline...
...and admit it; it doesn't always go smoothly. Developers work according to fixed processes such as the above mentioned Scrum framework. Don't you stick to this? This may jeopardise the successful completion of the sprint. A Scrum master ensures that everyone sticks to the process. Success and discipline go side by side here.
4. There is a strong focus on performance
Our developers build web applications and/or apps as flexibly as possible; new (possible) functionalities must be implemented as simply and quickly as possible. This sometimes requires extra time in the first phase, but in the long term it ensures a better performance. This performance is also important for our marketers. That is why there is always an eye for the user-friendliness and loading time of an application.
5. Speed = profit.
It makes sense, doesn't it? Webapplications must work smoothly and quickly. This is always taken into account in implementations.
There are some prejudices about developers, such as that the work is monotonous and only takes place behind a computer. We would like to change that image! As a developer, you work with tight schedules, good communication with both colleagues and customers is a requirement and not a day is the same. Working at a Digital Agency is a top sport, as we notice every day at TRIMM. That's why we've been sponsoring the FBK Games for years: because top performances deserve recognition and support!
Developers are desperately needed to make the digital transition that we are currently going through worldwide as smooth as possible. This transition has a big impact on our lives. In the economy, the technology and on a social level. Digital changes can bring us a great deal, but then they have to be carried out properly. And developers play a key role in this.
We hereby give a (digital) medal to all developers who work every day to make the complex digital world more beautiful and simpler!
