Akamai Edge takes place in Las Vegas from the 9th until the 13th of October. Our Hosting and Security consultant Bas Greevink will be present during this event. In this interview, Bas explains why Akamai Edge is such an important event for TRIMM, and what Akamai can do for our customers.

What is Akamai Edge?

Akamai Edge is the most important event of the year for Akamai. It attracts a lot of people who are working to make sure websites and applications wherever in the world are fast and secure. During Akamai Edge the latest updates about security will be discussed and new services will be announced which can make those websites and applications even faster and more secure.

With what goal will you visit Akamai Edge?

TRIMM values Akamai greatly as a partner. Akamai offers products and services that are currently high in demand in the European market. TRIMM wants to service other companies as best as we can and make sure they are well equipped with the best systems. Akamai Edge is thé event to see what is going on at Akamai and what their newest services are. This way we are better able to advise and help our own customers. Besides that, current events in Europe are discussed, like the GDPR and how companies handle hacks.

What do you hope to learn?

Akamai invests greatly in safety products and cloud services. I hope to learn about new services we are currently not sufficiently familiar with. Furthermore, I am curious to learn about how other companies handle safety and performance, to gain new insights we can learn from.

Why is Akamai such an important partner to TRIMM?

Akamai is consistent with what we want to offer our customers: fast and safe internet. They meet our expectations concerning quality and they are innovative. Besides, our corporate cultures match, which is why we work together so well. We are both divestments of technical universities, which is why we speak the same language. We understand each other when it comes to serving our customers.

What is so special about Akamai and TRIMM’s collaboration?

TRIMM has over 10 years of experience with integrating and operational management of CDN services. We have a certified team which works for renowned customers. We unburden Akamai by taking care of the complete configuration and integration. This makes us unique as an agency in the Netherlands. I am the only partner from an agency with his own desk in the Akamai office. They jokingly call me ‘the partner desk’.

Last but not least, will you take a gamble there?

I am not much of a ‘taking a gamble’ kind of guy. Friday will be my day off, which is when I will visit the Grand Canyon. But on Monday I will bright and early present at the TRIMM office again!
